In the heart of a bustling neighborhood, Stoop emerges as a vintage furniture and art retail store with a new identity, where past and present intertwine with subtle elegance. This renovation project, carried out by moss, is not merely a spatial renewal but also a statement of Stoop’s philosophy: “to revive beautiful designs forgotten by history, bring them back into the light through the lens of contemporary sensibility, and connect them with the future.”
The building façade, clad in a symbolic gray reminiscent of a warehouse, serves as a gentle bridge between the existing structure and the new architectural elements. This gray tone not only recalls the site’s industrial origins but also provides a modest backdrop that highlights the furniture and artworks inside. The interior was carefully reimagined, retaining the raw character of the past while subtly integrating modern details. Each element was designed as a neutral stage to foreground the curated objects on display.
The storefront space was preserved to showcase standout furniture pieces, complemented by a newly added service counter to encourage interaction. An expanded area, flooded with natural light from the roof—uncovered after partial demolition—creates an inviting and airy atmosphere. This daylight not only enlivens the interior but also enhances the beauty of each object, from refined carvings to the allure of raw materials.
We are not only searching for masterpieces, but also for beautiful designs buried in history, which we revalue through a contemporary lens, and connect to the future.

The old warehouse section, now seamlessly connected to the main retail area through an extended interior, features flexible display shelving. These modular units allow Stoop to arrange its global collection in a warehouse-like aesthetic, evoking the brand’s journey of discovery. This is where designers and architects can find inspiration in the handpicked artisanal pieces, each telling its own story of history and craft.
On the second floor, accessed via an external staircase, lies a space dedicated to exclusive vintage pieces. The lighting is intentionally subdued, creating a dramatic contrast with the building’s original wooden framework. This interplay not only emphasizes the products but also creates a contemplative atmosphere, where designers and art enthusiasts can slow down and appreciate each crafted detail—from delicate lines to timeworn materials.
