Pavilion: Toward sustainability

An 180m2 pavilion was designed by Sonthai Architects & Associates. Displayed in an architecture event on Hoan Kiem walking street (Hanoi, Vietnam), it carries the message about the green-living and the responsibilities of people working in architecture for nature and sustainability.

The triangle-shaped construction was resembled by individual original wood planks. The materials was designed to be connected as a load-bearing structure. The architect wanted to preserve the ‘authenticity’ of wood in this project in order to accentuate the beauty of material and structure instead of aiming for common aesthetic elements in design.

After the event, over 90% of used material can be reclaimed, which is the utmost purpose of this project, to realise the message about sustainability of this Pavilion.
