Tree House by the Lake

Tree House by the Lake is located under the trees of a perennial hardwood forest in a serene and peaceful countryside. H.2 Architects’ office has realised this project based on their mindset of limiting as much as possible the natural and surrounding context, utilising local “scrap” materials.

In order to have such comfortable modern life in the present, human beings have traded a some of our greatest things such as nature, health and community cohesion. Understanding the matter, the owner wished o bring to their grandchildren an environment to experience, connect, play, and learn in the arms of the nature.

The architects decided to collect ‘salvaged materials’ from nearby old buildings. These “scarps” are either collected for recycling or simply discarded. No matter what the plan is, it affects the environment and people around. By giving scarp another life, it delivers a make-over to the house’s appearance, creating open spaces that blend in harmony with the surrounding nature.

As the name Tree House by the Lake, the construction is lifted above the ground and relied on great-old-trees. Its color-of-time materials create this nostalgic atmosphere as if the house has been there forever.
