Ho Chi Minh city is currently a dense populated and rapidly developing metropolis in Vietnam. Yet, global climate change has been dramatically affecting on this city. Some low-lying areas has been invaded by high tides, causing unaesthetic urban beauty and inconvenience for daily life activities.
This construction is an office, designed and carried out by 6A Office in Vietnam.
Situated in an area with its context significantly influences its structure, this office might have to relocate because of the effect of climate change in the near future.
The structure of the office can be dismantled and reused for another one, or can be completely taken down in order to recover some investment cost at the end of the lease of land.

6A Office has proposed a solution, in which apply practical experiences in dealing with structure of tropical architecture, especially in Mekong Delta region in Vietnam.
“The whole building lies on a column system to evade high tide, at the same time, creating natural ventilation, natural rainfall is gathered and contained in an aquifer deep below. This is a typical method in the countryside but rarely applied in the city because of the urban context of blistering developing architectural infrastructure. Hence, TBD’s structure can be dismantled and reused for another one, or can be completely taken down in order to recover some investment cost at the end of the lease of land.”, 6A said.
Mono-tone coloured furniture blurs the stiff and edgy lines of the building.
In the context of the impact of evolving natural conditions to urban development process, we expect that this project offers an approach for architecture design. This project, at the same time, provides insights and experience to help us strengthen the connection between urban and rural areas amid their co-existance for development.”, 6A stated.
