Wespi de Meuron Romeo architects has designed a house in San Nazzaro for a family of four.
The extraordinary appearance of the building and the morphology of the terrain depicts an image of an ancient boulder. “This impression is reinforced by the dark rough-washed concrete”. Wespi de Meuron Romeo architects shared.
The house presents itself as a discrete structure, the sole way-in is the steel gate leading to the entrance courtyard. The forecourt is paved with traditional natural stone with trees that connect the house to the street.
“The 3-storey house has the entrance on the upper floor with the living-dinning room with an open kitchen. Two sides have close facades, the other two sides are completely glazed towards the courtyards on the uphill and downhill sides, creating both privacy to the social life and opening up to nature.” The architects said.
On the middle floor, there are four bedrooms and bathrooms. The natural lighting of this floor is ensured by inner courtyards. The lowest floor consists of a utility room, storage and technical rooms, as well as a secondary entrance and garden exit.
